Here is the story of Suramma, a

loving mother, and a hated mother-in-law! 

Suramma has only one son. As the tradition is, she arranged a girl for him to marry. The girl was very loving and sweet until she became the daughter-in-law.

The bride came home and the conflict followed. She started ill-treating the mother-in-law in downright uncouth manner. The home became hell.

Suramma did not have a fortune to live on nor could she work at this old age to earn a living. The only way out for her was to live on the mercies of people who were not her own. Her own folks thrashed her out of home.

We care for destitute widows like Suramma. When we gave her a saree, tears of joy diffused her eyes. When monthly financial help was offered, her hope of survival revived.

Suramma represents thousands of poor widows who are distressed and in desperate need. They need our care.
